The National Museum Edinburgh has a local treasure on display. This 17th century wrought iron gate from Perugia Italy belonged to Lord and Lady Carmichael who were keen collectors of Italian art. Covington

Covington was founded by Colban , a Flemish settle in the reign of Malcolm IV of Scotland . Originally Colban would have constructed a motte. This was later demolished when the present Covington Castle was built by the Lindsay family in the late fifteenth century. read more
